The Process

K1 Fiance Visa Process

Petitions for Fiancée’s are initially submitted through a regional service center in the US.

Once received and processed by the service center, a petition approval will transpire and the petition will be forwarded to the National Visa Center for additional processing that takes approximately 15 days.

After this processing is complete, the visa petition will be forwarded to the respective embassy issuing the visa.

Your fiancée will be contacted by the Embassy to schedule an interview appointment and to get their medical exam. The medical exam will take place first and then the Embassy interview will be conducted.

Usually within a week of the interview, the visa will be issued.

The total processing time varies according to the backlog of cases at the time of processing for each service center and respective embassy.

K3 Spouse Visa Process

Petitions for Spouse's are initially submitted through a regional service center in the US.

Once received and processed by the service center, a second petition is filed to expedite the K3, along with a copy of the receipt notice.

Afterwards, a petition approval will transpire and the petition will be forwarded to the National Visa Center for additional processing that takes approximately 15 days.

After this processing is complete, the visa petition will be forwarded to the respective embassy issuing the visa.

Your spouse will then be contacted by the Embassy to schedule an interview appointment and to get their medical exam. The medical exam will take place first and then the Embassy interview will be conducted.
