K1 Fiance Visa Requirements

The K1 Fiance Visa petition requirements are simple.

You must be a USA citizen. Both you and your fiancée must be free to marry. This means that if either of you has been married previously, you are now either divorced, widowed or the marriage has been annulled.

You must have met your fiancée in person within the previous two years.

If your fiancée lives in a developing country she usually cannot legally obtain a visitor visa to meet you in the US. This means that you must travel outside the US to meet your fiancée.

In addition, you must also meet a basic minimum income requirement in order to be eligible to petition your fiancée. If you cannot meet the income requirement, then you can request that a cosponsor assist with that part of your petition. The cosponsor must be a US citizen and can be your relative, friend or neighbor. The income requirement for petitioning your spouse is contingent on the size of your immediate family and dependents. Please contact us to determine if a cosponsor is needed.
